Northene 1000
Northene 1000 is North Sea Plastics Ltd tradename for ultra high molecular weight polyethylene. Northene 1000 exhibits different physical properties to that of Northene 500, and has a natural "leaf spring" characteristic making it suitable for use in the manufacture of AFO’s and KAFO’s.
It is also an extremely robust material, which will function much longer than most other materials when used in the two applications mentioned above. It is important to note that Northene 1000 is extremely difficult to mould, requiring two people to be involved during the moulding process.
- Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene
- Very low shrinkage
- Rigid, strong material
- Northene 1000 produces a natural "leaf spring" effect when formed into an AFO.
- Difficult to mould
