Northvane®

Northvane®

Northvane® is North Sea Plastics Ltd first generation of flexible materials. Northvane® is a very versatile material, suitable for use in both orthotic and prosthetic applications. Flexible, yet tough enough to allow straps to be stitched or riveted to it, Northvane® can be used to make body jackets where comfort and support are the most important factor rather than control. Northvane® is also used to make wrist braces, neck braces and SMO's, in fact the material is so versatile that new uses are constantly being found for it in workshops all over the world. In prosthetics, Northvane® has been used for over twenty years as the material of choice for above knee flexible prothetic sockets.

The combination of the physical characteristics, the beautiful moulding characteristics and the fact that it exhibits no shrinkage after being moulded explains why Northvane® is still the most successful flexible socket material.
